Israeli Tourism Minister Haim Katz is leading an Israeli delegation that landed in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Tourism.
It is the first such visit by an Israeli government minister to the Saudi Kingdom and is part of a United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) event.
“Tourism is a bridge between nations,” Katz said. “Cooperation in the field of tourism has the potential to bring hearts together, and economic progress.”
The historic visit comes amid continued efforts by Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and Israel to reach a normalization agreement.
