A British Jew who served in the Israel Defense Forces was killed while fighting in the Russian-Ukraine conflict.
Jonathan Shenkin, an IDF veteran, died in December while volunteering as a paramedic in Ukraine.
Shenkin, who was 45 years old when he died, was born and raised in Glasgow. He also lived in London and Malta before enlisting in the Israeli army.
Shenkin’s brother, Daniel, who posted a eulogy on Facebook, said that he had a “lifelong passion” for Israel.
