Who stands to win the most from the end to the Hamas-Israel conflict?

Everything is political these days – and that includes fighting a war. The once important Issues surrounding things like an existential threat, the amoral ethos of terrorism and protecting one’s citizenry have become mere side considerations rather than the main reason wars are fought. And this is no better evidenced than in the current Israel/Hamas war.

In the recent U.S. proposal to put an end to the war, it’s clear that a number of players stand to gain by effecting a quick resolution. Understanding who they are is important, in the grand scheme of things, so, here’s a deep dive into the possible winners and losers of such an implementation.

U.S.: The Biden administration, which has seen a significant abandonment of young voters move away from them in an upcoming election year, due to their initial support of Israel, despite its more measured and diluted backing of Israel’s continued defense, has hurt them greatly. Wrapping up the war will allow Biden and Blinken to disentangle themselves from a political non-starter for many in the progressive base of the Democratic party, whose antisemitic leanings are no longer hidden.

Saudi Arabia: Long afraid of Iran and their capabilities, once they are able to boast nuclear weaponry, it was their decision to cozy up to the Iranian regime, by restoring diplomatic relations in 2022 due to their “desire to lower the temperature with Iran.” Iran’s interest in a Hamas win puts them at odds with Israel and the U.S., the same two countries with whom Saudi Arabia has attempted to improve relations over the past couple of years, but which is a bit harder to achieve, and complicates matters, so long as the war continues. Consequently, they are in favor of its end.

Egypt: Writer and journalist, Dan Perry believes that a resolution could put an end to the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, which would benefit Egypt since they rely upon the Suez Canal for a significant part of their foreign currency through global trade. Money talks, and the loss of it is hurting them economically, so it’s no surprise that they would be in favor of an end to the war.

Hamas: Ending the war now will allow Hamas to regroup, rebuild and re-govern, albeit with an appointed team of watchdogs, but when did that ever stop them from doing what they do best – equipping themselves to destroy Israel? It will reinvigorate support from Gazans, who will be told that their suffering was not in vain, because, in the end, they prevailed, thanks to the pressure campaign that was executed, on their behalf, by those who had the most to gain and also had the power to garner a win for them.

Lebanon: Ending the war will benefit Lebanon inasmuch as they will avoid a major military confrontation with Israel’s war machine – a looming threat to Lebanese citizens whose fate is in the hands of the Hezbollah terror group which cares little for the welfare of those with whom they share the country. They can continue to breach our border and taunt our northern cities because an end to the war will also be an end to Israeli retaliation.

Europe and Australia: A great deal of civilian unrest has taken place in the form of spontaneous massive demonstrations throughout these two regions, and accompanying those protests has been an outbreak of antisemitic speech and actions – to the point where offensive graffiti has been painted on Jewish homes and where “Gas the Jews” has been shouted.

The list is endless as to who stands to win because Israel’s responses have resulted in so much social unrest, that there is hardly a country that has not been affected by the events following the Oct. 7 massacre that rocked our collective conscience as to what depths of hatred exist for Israel and the Jewish people.

Who Stands to Lose the Most?

Israel: Hands down, Israel stands to lose the most if they agree to a complete end to the war. Without finishing the job, Hamas gets to live another day. Gazans will return en masse and direct their blame towards Israel rather than their own corrupt and amoral leaders who put them in their untenable, perilous position, even to the point of death. Southern and northern communities will continue to be at grave risk, vulnerable to indiscriminate terror attacks, invasions and another massacre, because our soldiers can’t be everywhere, all the time. The waning arsenal of rockets will swiftly be replenished, and more and more money will flow into Hamas coffers, further enriching their corrupt and evil leaders, who will escape the ravages of war, while being safely housed in luxurious 7-star Qatar hotels. The rest of the money will fund the next effort to successfully remove the Jewish homeland from the Middle East.

Collective Jewish People: This war, if nothing else, returned Jews to pre-Holocaust times where all outward identity, as Jews, became risky and sometimes extremely dangerous. Modifications were made in order to adapt to the new reality that a price could be paid for revealing Jewish ethnicity, including displaying Jewish symbols such as a Chanukah menorah or a mezuzah on one’s doorpost. Kippot (skullcaps) and Jewish star jewelry (Magen David) were best hidden. Fears were realized that, perhaps, America and Europe were no longer the safest places for Jews to live or obtain higher education, due to the unapologetic antisemitic policies of such institutions which failed to provide safe campuses for their Jewish population. Consequently, Aliyah (immigration) applications skyrocketed to unprecedented levels.

Christians and non-Muslims: An end to the war represents an end to the fight against radical Islam which seeks to control and subjugate all people as it becomes the dominant political, religious and social force of the world. It means a surrender in battling the greatest forces of evil which hold the freedoms and liberties of humanity in contempt as well as allowing the purveyors of death and bondage to celebrate their victory over goodness, virtue and righteousness. Ending the war puts them just one step closer to their goal of standing in the place of God.

When you do the simple calculations, it becomes so much clearer why ending this war is not to the benefit of freedom-loving people who value life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, because a momentary end to conflict is just that. It is not lasting peace nor a change of heart. It is only meant to be a temporary break in the unrest, which will develop back into full-scale war the moment it is ready. Regrettably, it always returns with a greater vengeance, more powerfully equipped to destroy as much as possible.

So, before you are tempted to jump on the bandwagon of ending the war, it might be prudent to check out the sides and see which one is worth joining, because, from the looks of the the way things are heading, it just might be your last chance to support the winning team!
