What the Bibas family tragedy has revealed
All who saw it said, 'Nothing like this has ever happened or been seen from the day when the sons of Israel came up from the land of Egypt to this day. Consider it. Take counsel and speak up!'

It could be the headlines of the Bibas family tragedy, but it isn’t. It is, instead, another tragic story which occurred thousands of years ago and is recorded in the biblical book of Judges. Chapter 19 relates the horrific story of a woman whose body was cut up into 12 pieces, limb by limb, her body then sent throughout the territory of Israel.
Nothing has ever rivaled this account until now – the tragedy of the Bibas family! It is an unprecedented depth of evil, which has served as an indictment to the entire world, but especially to Israel who is mourning the senseless loss of two sweet, innocent and blameless babies who unwittingly became the poster children for the depravity of man.
Thinking we could rest, once their bodies were shipped back home, the whole House of Israel is in a collective state of shock, hearing the grim forensic results that the boys died brutally. Added to that unthinkable news is that their mother, Shiri, promised to be shipped along with them, was not. The fourth body discloses the unidentified remains of someone else.
But here we are – reeling over the immeasurable death of these two beautiful children, whose lives should not have been snuffed out at their tender age – boys who should have enjoyed the wondrous adventures that other little ones experience – everything from the first day of school to the moment they take their wedding vows.
These two red-haired boys, “gingy” as we call them here, were the sacrificial lambs who shocked the conscience of planet earth, by the mere realization of who we are and to what level we can sink, as a species. It is a picture of the abhorrence of sin if ever there was one.
We know there is evil, but just what kind of monster is capable of taking these angels and their mother from the safety of their home and family, only to send them back in wooden boxes as their forensic examinations reveal the worst?
Yes, this tragedy happened to Israelis, in an area no bigger than a dot on the map, but its repercussions must be reverberating throughout the universe and into the galaxies, because truly “nothing like this has ever happened or been seen before.”
This has to be the loudest shout out from heaven that ever was – an enormous wake-up call to all mankind, letting us know that we have seen the worst and committed the worst. It is who we are apart from the Almighty, whom we have corporately rejected, showing us, more than ever, that if we do not return to our Maker, this is what we become – far worse than the animals, because they have no conscience or are held accountable, but we are!
This heinous act cannot be swept under any carpet or ignored. It demands a response from each one of us no matter where you live or to what people you belong. It is the highest infraction of cruelty which has been perpetrated on our own, and so no one can remain silent.
This outrageous deed, which is an affront to the Creator, must also be forensically taken apart and examined if we are ever to understand the enormity of what has taken place.
We are at a moment of time in history when our sickness is escalating at a pace which is too rapid for even the most intelligent among us to grasp. Literally, at a point of no return, we are forced to confront the evil which is overtaking us and forcefully smacking us in the face.
That is the story of the Bibas family, whose precious lives were held as nothing by the evil creatures who mocked God’s creation, and we are here to witness it firsthand.
No longer can this qualify as a mere land dispute, because it is so much greater than that. This is the final battle of humanity, which was predicted long ago – a time when great suffering will take place such as we’ve never seen, and today is, undoubtedly, only a foretaste of more to come.
The world has been hit with a terminal sickness for which the only cure is acknowledging our need for a Savior to mercifully recreate the diseased hearts which are overflowing with darkness and destruction. And to think that it took two little red-headed boys to shine a spotlight on our profound depravity.
While it’s true that it was a select few demonic monsters who perpetrated the unimaginable, we, nonetheless, share the raw materials and human genome that they also possess – making us ashamed of being part of that same race.
For those who are tempted to think that the lives of these two children were for naught, they are wrong! Ariel and Kfir Bibas have given us the ultimate lesson of just who we are, the horrific depths to which we are capable of sinking and the desperate need we have to be repaired as hastily as possible.
The Bibas family has brought light to each and every one of us – allowing us to step back and take the necessary measures needed to do an about-face and cry out with a full-throated remorse for what we’ve permitted to define us as a society. We can no longer return to life as usual, because the angelic faces of Ariel and Kfir will not allow us to do so!
We cannot accept the torment which Yarden, their father is now enduring or the uncertainty of what has happened to his wife, Shiri whose remains were supposed to be contained in that fourth coffin but weren’t.
Today must represent a turning point for all of humanity, because if it doesn’t, our souls are not much better than the ones who committed these demonic acts which demand a massive reckoning of seismic proportions.
It is time to be struck to the core by the barbarians who have polluted our planet, letting them know that their judgment has come, lest we remain silent in the face of this unprecedented evil. We owe so much to the Bibas family for all they’ve suffered, but we especially are indebted to the two gingy boys whose smiling faces we will never forget! Thank you for showing us the urgency of our need to repent!
