Anti-Israel NGOs declare they plan to 'seize' American universities
'Zionist occupation' should be resisted 'by any means necessary,' says one NGO
Anti-Israel organizations across America have announced they are planning to “seize” university campuses to “force” them to join the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
One of these NGOs is known as the National Students for Justice in Palestine (National SJP).
On Saturday, the NGO, "National Students for Justice in Palestine" or National SJP, posted on Instagram that “the supposed power of our administrators is nothing compared to the strength of the united students, staff, and faculty committed to realizing justice and upholding Palestinian liberation on campus.”
The organization went on to say that, along with their other SJP “comrades,” they “will seize our universities and force the administration to divest, for the people of Gaza!”
In a different post, National SJP told its followers to “BE READY FOR AN INTERNAL CALL FOR IMMEDIATE NEXT ACTION ITEMS.”
National SJP declares on its website that it supports "almost 300 Palestine solidarity organizations across occupied Turtle Island” – the term some activists use to refer to the United States. and Canada – and that it aims “to develop a student movement that is connected, disciplined, and equipped with the tools necessary to achieve Palestinian liberation.”
The Jerusalem Post reported that several other organizations have echoed National SJP’s call, including Within Our Lifetime, US Campaign for Palestinian Rights, and Jewish Voice for Peace, which are all organizations built on neo-Marxist ideology.
According to its website, Within Our Lifetime –a close ally of SJP – defends “the right of Palestinians as colonized people to resist the zionist occupation by any means necessary,” as well as “the right of all oppressed nationality people in the United States and around the world to engage in all forms of struggle in pursuit of freedom.”
Last week, tent encampments were set up on several American university campuses as a part of ongoing anti-Israel protests.
At Columbia University last Wednesday, an SJP-supported encampment led to the arrest of 108 students.
On Monday morning Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz tweeted about the rise in antisemitism at Columbia University and urged Mayor Eric Adams to take action.
Appalled by the vile wave of antisemitism @Columbia Silence is complicity! I urge @NYCMayor, U.S. officials and leaders to take immediate, unequivocal action to combat this scourge. Jewish students deserve safety, respect, and action, not just words. Israel stands firm with them.
