Rocket launches from Gaza following deadly IDF raid in Jenin yesterday
Rocket sirens went off early this morning in Nir Am, a kibbutz near the Gaza border.
During searches conducted near the border, it was discovered that the rocket had been launched from the Gaza Strip and fell next to the security fence within Israeli territory, according to an Israel Defense Forces statement.
No injuries or damage to property was reported.
Tensions are high in the West Bank as Israeli security forces conducted a rare daylight raid in the Palestinian city of Jenin yesterday. The purpose of the raid was to arrest the terrorist suspected of killing two Israeli brothers as they drove through the village of Huwara last week.
The terrorist – identified as 49-year-old Abd al-Fattah Hussein Ibrahim Gharusha, an operative of the Hamas terrorist group – was killed in a firefight with Israeli forces.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health claimed six Palestinians were killed during the raid and another 26 injured, In addition, two Israeli counter-terrorism officers suffered injuries resulting from the raid.
