‘Why Stand with Israel’ film seeks to educate Christians about God’s ‘eternal love’ for his people Israel

Director Brian Sanders hopes to educate and inspire the Church to stand with Israel

Brian Sanders, the director and executive producer of the new documentary film, Why Stand with Israel, has a long career in the field of media.

After years of working for the Armed Forces Network, the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), and even starting his own company, HOPE Media, Sanders felt the calling of God to use his knowledge of media, and particularly film, to start a new project.

The call came during a trip to Israel during the visit of then-U.S. President Barack Obama. Sanders was challenged by a friend to reevaluate some of his views about Israel in light of scripture.

It was the re-evaluation of scripture and seeing the central role of Israel within them that led Sanders' to produce "Why Stand with Israel," designed to educate and inspire the Global Church to live out its biblical responsibility to stand with Israel.

After his personal journey out of replacement theology, Sanders made it his mission to educate and inspire Christians worldwide to stand with Israel. This ambitious new documentary series, with "Why Stand With Israel" as the first installment, is a key part of that mission.

In his interview with ALL ISRAEL NEWS, Sanders shared his motivation behind the series and the long but providential process of bringing the first film in the series to completion. He explains how the documentary comprehensively makes the case for standing with Israel using scripture, history and current geopolitical realities, as well as combating common lies, misconceptions and indifference within the Church.

Sanders said he hopes the film and the subsequent installments will be useful tools to reach Christians worldwide with the critical message of God's heart for Israel and the Jewish people.

While Sanders began the film nearly eight years before the events of October 7, the Hamas massacre added a sense of urgency and intensity to the project, as antisemitic incidents rose dramatically around the world following the attacks.

Sanders says that the Global Church, which scripture says has been “grafted into God’s redemption plan with His covenantal Land and Chosen people, has been silent” about this alarming rise in antisemitism.

He created the film and the series to “debunk the lies, myths and misconceptions about Israel while educating the Global Church to live out its biblical responsibility to STAND with the Apple of God’s Eye,” he said.
