Miracle on the kibbutz: How one Israeli family survived the Hamas massacre on Oct. 7
After meeting Biden & talking to ’60 Minutes,’ survivor Amir Tibon opens up to me for a special 1-hour edition of THE ROSENBERG REPORT
JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – Amidst such heartbreak and loss since the Hamas invasion and massacre began on Oct. 7, I’ve been looking for stories of hope and encouragement.
Many Israeli Jews have told me they aren’t just grieving over what happened then and since.
They are confused – and angry.
Not just at Hamas – but at God.
“Where was God on October 7?” one Orthodox Jewish friend asked me. “I’m really struggling with that right now.”
It’s an important question, and one I will address in the coming days.
But I’ve also been finding many non-religious Israeli Jews who tell me they absolutely see God’s hand in saving them from being murdered at the hands of Hamas terrorists.
For the first time in their lives, many believe that God has personally shown up and performed miracles for them and their families – and they are forever grateful.
Two weeks ago, I reported on one such astonishing story, the miraculous rescue of an Israeli couple held hostage in their home for more than 19 hours in the town of Ofakim.
Tonight, on our first-ever 1-hour special of THE ROSENBERG REPORT, I will share another powerful story of God miraculously rescuing yet another Israeli family from certain death.
Amir Tibon is the diplomatic correspondent for Haaretz, the widely respected if left-wing daily Israeli newspaper.
His wife, Miri, and their two young daughters used to live in Washington, D.C.
That’s where I met and became friends with Amir.
I was a source for a number of articles he wrote about Evangelical love and support for Israel.
And about the Evangelical Christian Delegations I led to meet with various Arab kings, crown princes, presidents, and prime ministers.
About two and a half years ago, Amir and his family moved back to Israel from the States.
But rather than live near the Haaretz headquarters in central Tel Aviv, they settled in a kibbutz along the Gaza border called Nahal Oz.
They loved it and considered it a paradise.
Until Saturday, Oct. 7, when their Garden of Eden turned into the fires of hell.
For 10 hours, they locked themselves in their safe room – no light, no food, no air conditioning, dying cell phones, and only intermittent WiFi and cell coverage – while Hamas terrorists killed their neighbors.
Dragged some of them off as hostages to Gaza.
Shot into Amir’s house.
And tried to break in, as well.
How they survived is one of the most incredible and emotionally wrenching stories I have ever heard.
It’s so interesting that Amir was invited to tell it to U.S. President Joe Biden when he arrived in Tel Aviv on Air Force One a few weeks ago.
It’s a story so compelling that famed CBS News correspondent Leslie Stahl flew to Israel to interview Amir and his family, as well, for a 13-minute segment on “60 Minutes.”
But tonight, THE ROSENBERG REPORT will be the first TV program in the world to sit down with Amir for a full one-hour conversation about what happened to his beloved kibbutz.
How he and his family survived when so many did not.
Who exactly it was that rescued them.
And why they – a non-religious but deeply Zionist left-wing Israeli family – believe that they have truly experienced a miracle of God.
The program will air tonight at 9 p.m. eastern on TBN, the most-watched Christian TV network in the U.S.
In the coming days, the interview will also be posted in full on our YouTube channel and on www.RosenbergReport.TV.
Don’t miss it.
