US Christian leaders to unveil resolution endorsing Israeli sovereignty over Judea & Samaria ahead of Trump announcement

Christian leaders will announce a resolution endorsing Israeli sovereignty over the Judea and Samaria at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) International Christian Media Convention this coming week in Dallas, Texas.
The American Christian Leaders for Israel (ACLI) will hold a press conference at the event to present the resolution, which has been signed by over 3,000 Christian pastors and organizational leaders from across the U.S. It is set to be delivered to U.S. President Donald Trump ahead of his anticipated statement on Judea and Samaria, internationally known as the West Bank, in the coming weeks.
ACLI and NRB, advocates of “biblical truth” and Israeli sovereignty, see the resolution as a way to strengthen Christian support for Israel amid ongoing discussions over the territory’s status.
During a press conference, earlier this month, in Washington with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said he would “make an announcement regarding Israeli annexation of the West Bank in about four weeks.”
Shortly after Netanyahu's departure, Trump met with Jordan’s King Abdullah II. When asked by reporters about his stance on the issue, he responded, "That’s going to work out very well… work out automatically."
The ACLI resolution affirms the importance of Jewish sovereignty over the region.
While the resolution affirms the Jewish people’s “inalienable rights to the Biblical Heartland of Israel” it “rejects all efforts – both from the United States and the international community – to pressure the Jewish people to relinquish their ancestral homeland in Judea and Samaria.”
It also emphasizes the benefits of Jewish presence in the region, noting contributions to religious freedom, the preservation of historical sites, and enhanced living conditions for all residents.
Dr. Susan Michael, director of ACLI and president of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem’s U.S. branch (ICEJ-USA), added: “This resolution is a crucial affirmation of the Jewish people’s undeniable connection to the biblical heartland. At a time when Israel’s sovereignty is under relentless attack, it is vital that we stand firm in recognizing Israelis’ historical, legal, and moral rights to their ancestral homeland. Any decision involving the destiny of Judea and Samaria must be made by Israel with no pressure from the U.S. or the international community."
Josh Reinstein, president of the Israel Allies Foundation said, “Everywhere I go, Bible-believing Christians are speaking about the real possibility of Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria,” adding, “many Christians believe they could be witnessing the fulfillment of biblical prophecy yet again.”
During Trump’s first term, he considered backing annexation, a move heavily influenced by then-U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman. However, just as the plan was set to advance, it was put on hold as part of an agreement with the United Arab Emirates, later known as the Abraham Accords. This agreement included a three-year pause on annexation discussions, a period that has now expired.
Trump’s original Mideast peace plan, known as the “Deal of the Century,” supported annexing up to 40% of Area C into Israel.
Area C is already under full Israeli control and comprises about 60% of the land mass internationally known as the West Bank. It includes Israeli settlements, strategic areas, and much of the region's open land.
