'They restored our security' - Gabriela Leimberg, also held captive by Hamas, on rescue operation that freed her brother Fernando
Rinat, daughter of Luis Har, who was rescued together with Fernando: 'There were moments he could not stand on his feet.'
One day has passed since the heroic rescue operation and the excitement is still at its peak.
Gabriela Leimberg, the sister of Fernando Marman, who was rescued from Hamas captivity in an IDF operation, and who herself was also freed from Hamas captivity, expressed on Israel's Reshet Bet Radio during the Kalman Lieberman Show, "Since my release, I've felt incomplete; yesterday's operation restored our sense of security."
Leimberg shared: "I was in captivity for 53 days. When we were released there was joy. Their joy was incomplete in our personal story. Fernando and Luis were [still] missing. We are very excited. There are 134 more abductees in captivity; we were very afraid of the rescue, [but] happy that it was successful. I want to thank the forces that participated. They gave us back some of our security [that was lost on Oct .7]. I ask the people of Israel to continue to strengthen us and stand with the hostage families. We will not stop until everyone returns."
Rinat, the daughter of Luis Har, who was also rescued in the operation, said: "They didn't sleep well tonight, it's hard for them to fall asleep, they are very weak, they are given a special diet, to eat a little every hour. [In captivity] they brought them pita bread and tomatoes that were in the courtyard, white cheese. At first there was more food but over time there was a shortage. They lost a lot of weight. We need to take care of them. We don't know when they will come home, there were moments when he couldn't stand on his feet. We came to visit gradually; we didn't bring all the grandchildren with us. Every meeting like this is impactful and exciting."
