Car ramming attack in Tel Aviv amid ongoing military operation in Jenin, at least eight wounded
Hamas praises attack as revenge for 'crimes against our people in Jenin'
A terrorist ran people over with his car and then exited the vehicle and stabbed one of the victims in the neck on Tuesday in Tel Aviv. At least eight people were hurt in the attack. The terrorist died at the scene when he was shot by an armed civilian.
Tensions are running high across the nation as the Israel Defense Forces are currently engaged in the second day of an intense counter-terrorism operation in Jenin.
Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics were at the scene and treating the victims shortly after the attack and were evacuated to Tel Aviv's Sourasky Medical Center and Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Hospital. One woman was allegedly in serious condition and two others are in moderate condition, according to Israeli media reports. Another two victims are reported to be in light condition.
“We arrived at the scene with a large force of MDA intensive care vehicles and ambulances. We saw that it was very serious, and near a bus stop, there were 5 injured people, including a 46-year-old woman who was lying on the sidewalk while she was conscious and suffering from severe trauma,” an unnamed MDA paramedic said.
The attacker has been named as Hussein Khalila, 23, from the southern West Bank town of as-Samu, near Hebron, according to Hebrew media reports.

According to Israel Police, Tel Aviv District Commander Ami Eshed said the terrorist acted alone. He allegedly entered Israel with a medical permit reportedly suffering from a mental illness.
Hamas Spokesperson Hazem Qassem applauded the attack, saying it was in response to Israel’s ongoing operation in Jenin.
“The heroic attack in Tel Aviv is the first response to the occupation's crimes against our people in Jenin. The occupation will pay the price for its crimes against Jenin. We praise the heroes of our people and the fighters in Jenin.”
