The National Security Council (NSC) warned Israelis traveling abroad to be more careful than usual and to conceal Israeli symbols due to an international “Day of Rage” to protest against Israel, planned for Tuesday.

In addition to worldwide events, Hamas official Abd al-Rahim Shadid called on Palestinians in Judea and Samaria to take to the streets against the “war of annihilation that Israel is waging.”

Israel’s NSC regularly updates Israelis traveling abroad about potential dangers and issues travel warnings.

On Monday, the NSC said it had identified “many calls online to hold protest events, demonstrations, and disruptions in various countries – led by pro-Palestinian elements.”

These demonstrations could potentially develop into violence targeted against Israelis, and even be used by terror supporters who aren’t affiliated with a known terror group to carry out an attack.

“In recent years, and especially following the Iron Swords War, there has been an increase in the activity of extremists around the world calling for protests and disruptions, and in some cases also for calls of a violent nature,” the NSC stated.

On Tuesday, Israelis traveling abroad were called to have the local emergency phone numbers and the number of the Israeli representation; obey local security forces; conceal Israeli symbols in public spaces; stay away from protests; and remain alert to their surroundings.

“Days of Rage” are declared regularly in Judea and Samaria to protest Israeli actions and often develop into violent clashes with Israeli police and the IDF.

Hamas official Shadid especially called on students “to fulfill their role” and to mobilize for action on their campuses. He also claimed that Israel was acting “violently” against Palestinian universities and targets students for arrest.

Shadid added that all sectors of the Palestinian society should mobilize to protect the Palestinian people and the holy sites, and to deter the “herds” of Israeli settlers, adding that all “forms of struggle” must be escalated to oppose Israel’s “aggression.”

The NSC’s last major security update came just before the Passover season earlier this month, which traditionally is among the busiest travel periods in Israel.

“The various terrorist groups (Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, global Jihad) remain highly motivated and active to promote a variety of attacks against Israelis and Jews around the world,” the NSC warned at the time.

“In the background, the ‘atmosphere of hatred’ against Israelis and Jews, following the war, in many countries around the world, continues to fuel the motivation to carry out attacks by individual terrorists/independent infrastructures.”

The NSC added: “For any question relating to terror threats against Israelis abroad, you can contact the National Security Headquarters’ Travel Warning Center at 02 6667 444 (operating 24/7). For questions on other issues, such as health services, consular matters, personal security in the context of crime and antisemitism, you can contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs call center at 02 5303 155 (operating 24/7).”
