Pastors, please lead your Sunday services in prayer for Israel; Iran has launched its 1st-ever direct drone and missile attack on the Jewish state
JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – Dear pastors and priests around the world.
In the Bible – in Psalm 122:6 – the Lord commands true believers to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem.”
Many of you do this already.
But never have we needed your prayers and those of your church members more than right now.
I’m asking, therefore, that you would lead your church services in prayer for Israel on Sunday morning.
At this hour, we here in Israel are facing the first-ever direct attack by the Iranian regime against the Jewish state.
Around 11 p.m. Israel time on Saturday night, Tehran launched more than 100 killer drones toward Israel from Iranian soil, rather than using its terror proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah to launch such attacks.
There are also multiple reports that Iran has launched missiles at Israel.
In the coming hours, Iranian leaders may also order Hezbollah and other proxies – including the Houthis in Yemen – to fire salvos of missiles, as well.
And this could quickly escalate even further.
Hezbollah, for example, has an arsenal of 150,000 missiles in Lebanon, all aimed at Israel.
That’s why Israel needs your urgent prayers for safety and protection from all of our radical and genocidal enemies.
We also need millions of Christians worldwide to pray according to Isaiah 61:1-2 for the 134 hostages held by jihadists in Gaza to be urgently released.
Please pray that the Lord would immediately “set the captives free.”
At the same time, please pray for innocent Palestinians, especially those in Gaza, that the Lord would comfort and heal those traumatized, wounded and killed in this horrific war.
Please pray, too, that followers of Jesus Christ will be faithful and courageous lights in the terrible darkness that has settled over the Epicenter.
The prospect of a much worse war – even an apocalyptic and prophetic war – erupting very soon is real and growing more and more likely.
Only the Lord’s sovereign intervention can re-establish calm and quiet in the region.
