Israeli President Herzog exposes antisemitic Hamas handbook ‘The End of the Jews’ at Munich conference

Israeli President Isaac Herzog revealed a discovery last night during the Munich Security Conference when he held up a Hamas handbook featuring a dagger piercing a Star of David on its front cover.

The book, entitled, ‘The End of the Jews,’ was found by IDF soldiers in a home in Gaza. It was written by Dr. Mahmoud al-Zahar, co-founder of Hamas and former foreign minister of the Palestinian Authority.

“This book first of all says we should not recognize the fact that there are Jews and Jewish people, but most predominantly it hails the Holocaust. It hails what the Nazis have done, and calls for nations to follow what the Nazis have done,” Herzog stated.

“Now we're in Munich. On the outskirts of Munich, there's the Dachau Concentration Camp. Tens of thousands of our nation of Jews were slaughtered in Dachau.”

In response to questions from Washington Post Senior Editor David Ignatius about the state of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, Herzog urged unity among allies, including moderate Middle Eastern governments, to deal with the many threats posed by the Iranian regime.

“And [this Nazi ideology] is the problem, meaning, we have to have a coalition of all the moderate forces in the world, fighting this ideology - and the moderate forces in the world include many Sunni countries - because they will be attacked by the same jihadists as well,” the Israeli president said.

The Hamas handbook reportedly includes chapters titled, “The World’s Burning Hatred for the Jews” and “The General Corruption of the Jews” and “Reasons to Expel the Jews.”

The content includes age-old blood libels, such as the false accusations that Jews use the blood of Christian children for rituals, as well as antisemitic tropes asserting Jews' obsession with wealth and the suppression of non-Jewish populations.

Although the position of president in Israel is mostly symbolic without political authority, Herzog has used his status to advocate for the Jewish nation on the world stage.

During an interview with CNN in October, Herzog revealed a Hamas booklet with instructions on how to attack Israeli communities and torture Israeli civilians.

“This was found on the body of one of the terrorists, this booklet is an instruction guide, how to go into a civilian premises, into a kibbutz, a city, a moshav, how to break in,” Herzog said.

“And first thing what do you do when you find citizens? You torture them. This is the booklet – it says exactly how to torture them, how to abduct them, how to kidnap them,” the president added.

During an NBC interview last month, Herzog revealed Hamas documents implicating the terror group in extensive child indoctrination.

“It is a brochure, which is a directive by the commanders of Hamas as to how to manage summer camps for children in order to disseminate the values of jihad. It says it clearly – to disseminate the values of jihad, and the values of the resistance, meaning terror, and how to make it a militarized society,” Herzog stated.

The Israeli president was previously vocal in his support for the two-state solution. However, following the Oct. 7 massacres of more than 1,200 Israelis, Herzog has reminded the international community that genuine peace is not possible as long as terrorism is allowed to thrive near Israel’s borders.

Herzog was accompanied on his visit to the Munich Security Conference by former Israeli hostages Raz Ben Ami, Adi Shoham and Aviva Segal, who were released from captivity in Gaza last year, and other representatives of the families of hostages.

While at the conference, Herzog held several meetings with world leaders, in an effort to secure the swift return of the remaining 134 hostages being held by Hamas terrorists and their allies.
