Israeli pop star answers Kanye West with Jewish-inspired outfit at MTV music awards

All of Israel is talking about Noa Kirel's strut down the red carpet – with West's face covered by Judaica on her bold ensemble

Israeli pop star Noa Kirel wore her response to Kanye West's recent anti-Semitic outburst on her sleeve – and on her halter top and pants.

Literally.

Kirel's provocative outfit was plastered with West's face and covered in Jewish symbols such as the Star of David.

Israel's hottest artist decided to use the MTV European Music Awards in Dusseldorf, Germany to make a statement in response to West and rising anti-Semitism across the globe.

This is "a message for the whole world; something that says: I am Jewish and Israeli and I am proud to represent Israel in the world," she said.

"We are here. The people of Israel are alive," Kirel told Israeli media on the red carpet. "It was important to me to send a clear message and this was the forum to do it."

She had the outfit designed especially for the occasion. According to some responses, however, the message may have been lost on many people who saw only West's face, but missed the smaller gold Stars of David that were roped across the outfit.

Kirel, 21, won best Israeli artist for the fifth straight year on Sunday and will represent Israel at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.
