To combat 'Holocaust denial-like phenomenon' regarding Oct. 7 attacks, Israeli gov't shows repulsive Hamas body-cam videos to foreign press

Grisly images were too graphic for some journalists, who walked out of screening early

On Monday, the Israeli government showed 200 foreign press members roughly 43 minutes of body-cam footage recovered from deceased and captured Hamas terrorists.

The footage was recorded by terrorists who participated in the Oct. 7 invasion of southern Israel, in which over 1,400 people were killed and around 220 hostages taken by Hamas into Gaza.

The Israeli government made the decision to screen the graphic footage to the international press to combat the growing phenomenon the IDF has been facing recently to provide evidence of the atrocities committed by Hamas during the invasion and brutal assault.

The journalists who attended were not allowed to record or take pictures, as the government said some of the images are too graphic to be released publicly.

Many journalists who attended the screening were crying as they watched the videos, and some even walked out, unable to bear the horrifying scenes.

Israeli government spokesman Eylon Levy said the decision to screen the video footage came after the government saw an unprecedented “Holocaust denial-like phenomenon” regarding the atrocities across social media.

“As we work to defeat the terror organization, we are witnessing a Holocaust denial-like phenomenon evolving in real-time as people are casting doubt on the magnitude of the atrocities Hamas committed against our people and in fact recorded in order to glorify this violence,” Levy said.

The Israeli government has struggled with the challenge of whether to release certain evidence, due to the brutal, graphic nature, but has seen a growing phenomenon of disbelief, especially online.

The footage, some of it recovered from Hamas terrorists killed during fighting on Oct. 7, contained shocking images, such as a decapitated IDF soldier, a terrorist trying to decapitate a Thai worker with a garden hoe while he was still alive, and Hamas terrorists dressed in Israeli military uniforms shooting Israeli motorists trying to flee for safety at close range.

In one video, a father and his two sons, clad only in their underwear, run to an outdoor safety shelter in their backyard for cover. As they enter the structure, a Hamas terrorist, who was in hiding, approaches and throws a grenade into the shelter, killing the father. The two boys are then seen running out, covered in their father’s blood.

An audio recording was played for the press that contained a Hamas terrorist calling his parents to brag about his murdering spree.

“I killed 10 [Jews] with my own hands,” the terrorist tells his father. “Their blood is on my hands, let me speak to mom.”

He also asks his father to be proud of him, and says: “I’m talking to you from a [dead] Jewish woman’s phone. I killed her and I killed her husband.”

Another video showed a first responder pouring bottled water on the still-burning body of a person.

There were also photos of bodies that had been mutilated after death, as well as photos of ISIS flags and other terror paraphernalia.

IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Daniel Hagari emphasized: “When we say Hamas is ISIS, it’s not a branding effort.”

Hagari noted the similarity of the Hamas terrorists recording their killings, to that of ISIS group members, who often recorded and then released videos of themselves killing 'their enemy.'
