IDF: We have located, recovered partial remains of murdered hostage Meny Goddard; his body remains in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet announced on Saturday evening that in recent days, they have recovered remains from the Gaza Strip associated with the body of the murdered hostage Menachem (Meny) Goddard, who was killed by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group on Oct. 7.
Kan News learned that earlier this week, IDF soldiers from the Yahalom Unit and the Golani Reconnaissance Unit located remains near an outpost of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Rafah. These remains were sent for forensic examination in a focused operation.
The IDF announcement followed a statement by Goddard’s daughter, Bar, during her speech at Hostages' Square on Saturday evening, in which she revealed that IDF representatives had informed her of a failed attempt to recover her father’s body from Gaza.
Speaking at the square, Goddard said: "The family demands that no soldier be sent to risk his life in order to recover our father’s body."
Seventy-five-year-old Goddard was abducted from his home on Kibbutz Be’eri and murdered by terrorists on Oct. 7, 2023.
His death was announced on Dec. 8, 2023. The security establishment believes his body was transferred from another location to the area where the remains were collected.
