Hamas announced on Sunday that it convicted 14 men for collaborating with the "Israeli occupation," sentencing seven of them to death by hanging, according to the Palestinian wire service Ma'an.

The seven other men received a life sentence in prison with hard labor after being charged with "communicating with hostile foreign entities."

The court found all 14 guilty of providing Israeli intelligence forces with information about members and facilities of Gaza's armed terror groups, mainly Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

The first man sentenced to death was a 48-year-old resident of the al-Burij refugee camp who was detained in 2019. He allegedly began working as an informant after an Israeli intelligence officer called him on the phone and offered him work. The man reportedly continued to provide his handler with the home addresses, phone numbers and vehicle descriptions of Hamas terror organization members.

The second man, a 31-year-old resident of Deir al-Balah who was detained in 2019, allegedly informed Israel about terror organization members, tunnel locations and the location of missile and weapon caches.

The third convict is 33 years old and lives in Gaza City. He was detained in 2018 and also allegedly provided information about members of Gaza's terror organizations, including tunnels and weapons.

The fourth man, a 62 years old resident of the northern Gaza Strip, was detained in 2017 after allegedly working for Israel since 1996, in return for a work permit in Israel.

The fifth man, a 44-year-old resident of Khan Yunis, was detained in 2018 and allegedly provided Israel with information about members of Gaza's terror organizations, including tunnels and weapons.

The sixth man is a 34-year-old resident of the northern Gaza Strip who was detained in 2017. He also allegedly provided Israel with information about members of Gaza's terror organizations, and their facilities, tunnels and weapons.

The last convict is a 45-year-old resident of Rafah, who was detained in 2019 on the same charges of providing Israel with information about members of Gaza's terror organizations and their facilities.

In April, two Palestinians were sentenced to death and four others to life in prison for the same charges, Israel's i24 news reported.

Hamas regularly executes Palestinians accused of working as Israeli informants, a practice condemned by the United Nations and other human rights organizations.

At least 17 Palestinians were executed in Gaza by the Hamas terror group in 2022, according to the Times of Israel.
