GROUND WAR BEGINS — IDF invades southern Lebanon to eradicate Hezbollah threat
Pray for Lebanese civilians – including Christians – fleeing to north, away from Israel border
WASHINGTON, DC — Israeli Defense Forces began their long-anticipated invasion of southern Lebanon on Monday night, local time.
Early reports indicate that IDF special forces units were the first to go in.
U.S. government sources say that Israel has agreed to President Joe Biden’s demand that the IDF ground operation be limited in scope and duration.
But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not been following Biden’s demands of late.
After Biden insisted last week that Israel agree to a 21-day ceasefire in Lebanon, Netanyahu instead authorized the IDF to go for Hezbollah’s jugular.
The IDF assassinated 18 of the terror group’s top 18 commanders, including Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, the organization’s secretary general who had led Hezbollah for 32 years.
Netanyahu’s goal is far more expansive than anything Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris says they will support – the total eradication of the Hezbollah threat to the Jewish state.
