Israeli foreign minister to travel to Bahrain for 1st time Sept. 3-5 to strengthen Abraham Accords
Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen will reportedly travel to Bahrain on Sept. 3-5 for meetings, according to sources in the Israeli embassy in Manama, the Bahraini capital.
The foreign minister’s previously scheduled trip to Bahrain was canceled in late July.
At the time, Bahrain said the trip was “postponed due to schedule constraints,” however, many believe it was because of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s visit to the Temple Mount.
Cohen's visit will be the first official trip by a member of the coalition government.
The foreign minister has been seeking to expand the Abraham Accords peace agreements and has visited several Muslim countries since assuming his role in late December.
