First public event in Israel with 'Son of Hamas' Mosab Hassan Yousef to be held in January
Mosab Hassan Yousef has won the appreciation of many Israelis with his outspoken criticism of Hamas, especially since the terrible events of Oct. 7 of last year. Next month, he will address a public audience in Israel for the first time.
Yousef, also known as the "Green Prince," has appeared on many shows and news programs over the last year adamantly defending Israel’s military response to the Hamas terror attack, and insisting that the terror group in Gaza be eradicated.
Yousef is an authority on the subject, having been raised by one of the terror group’s founders. His extraordinary story is told in his book, “Son of Hamas”.
His father, Sheikh Hassan Yousef, is recognized as a spiritual leader within the Hamas organization and serves as the terror group’s spokesperson in the West Bank. Yousef has been estranged from his family after becoming an informant for Israel’s Shin Bet security agency for a time, during which he saved countless Israeli lives from planned terrorist attacks.
His dramatic change of perspective happened after he was imprisoned in Israel, where he witnessed firsthand how the terror group operated, even within its own ranks.
He learned about Jesus and was particularly drawn to ideas, known as “Christ consciousness.” While the concept is more of a New Age form of spirituality, Yousef says that the teachings of Jesus helped him to appreciate and love Israel in a profound way.
“When I was first introduced to Christ consciousness I learned to love my enemy unconditionally and that was the core of my motive,” he explained during an AIPAC conference in 2015. “That’s what put me on this crazy experiment, irrational experiment with truth.”
“Israel to me is not just only a political regime, Israel is light, Israel is philosophy, Israel is values and ethics,” he said, adding, “I cannot imagine the world without Israel. To see the love and unconditional support now truly lifts me up. For years I thought I was alone and that was a lie.”
Many Israelis have felt alone with an extreme anti-Israel sentiment expressed many places worldwide, and voices like that of Yousef have brought great encouragement and comfort.
Yousef, along with Douglas Murray, Bill Maher, Nathaniel Buzolic and Elon Musk are five people ALL ISRAEL NEWS has identified as “Good Samaritans" for strongly supporting Israel at this critical time.
Yousef has become a familiar and much-loved figure for Israelis because of his advocacy on behalf of the Jewish state.
Ynet News reported that his first public event in Israel will be held on Jan. 29 at Hangar 11 at the Tel Aviv Port.
