Explosion at Megiddo Junction being investigated as possible terror attack
An improvised explosive device (IED) placed at the side of the road near the Megiddo Junction exploded on Monday morning, seriously injuring Sharaf al-Din, a 21-year-old resident of Salem.
The IED was placed along Route 65 and exploded as the victim, Sharaf al-Din, drove by at about 6 a.m. Another vehicle was also damaged, but there were no other injuries.
Israel Police arrived on the scene shortly after the incident to investigate the explosion. The Israel Security Agency (ISA), or Shin Bet, is also reportedly involved in the investigation.
At the time of publication, no initial findings have been released.
