Kibbutz Gazit organizes gathering for song and prayer for hostages in Gaza
A spirit of hope continues for the release of hostages being held captive by Hamas
Kibbutz Gazit, located in the eastern part of the Jezreel Valley, near the Lower Galilee.
It is a relatively safe place in these troubled times, and it has become a home and refuge for those fleeing rocket attacks from the south and north of Israel.
The entire community at Gazit has rallied to help their friends and anyone in need during this challenging time. There are families of captives, and we, like all of Israel in this struggle, share in their pain.
Adrian (Aviva) and Keith Sigal were kidnapped from their home on Kibbutz Kfar Aza on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023.
One of their daughters is now living with family on Kibbutz Gazit, and since that terrible day, they have received immense support from the kibbutz members and the entire community.
We pray, wait and hope for the safe return of all the captives and missing persons.
While prayer services were held at several centers around the world for the release of the captives, the family in Gazit chose to hold a circle of song and prayer – one filled with hope and a heartfelt desire for the return of the captives.
The songs were chosen by the family and performed with love by local talents from the kibbutz.
Aviva and Keith's home was steeped in their parents' love for music and their belief in the power of song.
Dozens of families, from the young to the elderly, gathered under the open sky, sang together and created soap bubbles.
May they return to their family soon.
