Israeli PM Netanyahu says he and Sara ‘pray for his safety and speedy recovery’

DENVER, COLORADO — Former President Donald J. Trump appears to have been shot by a would-be assassin on live television.

What sounded like gunshots erupted during a massive campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, close to Pittsburgh.

It’s clear that he has blood streaked across his face but he is alive and defiant.

Before being whisked off the stage, Trump raised his fist to the crowd and shouted, “Fight, fight, fight!”

Was Trump hit by a bullet, or was he injured upon dropping down on the stage?

Not clear yet.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu quickly issued the following statement on 𝕏: “Sara and I were shocked by the apparent attack on President Trump. We pray for his safety and speedy recovery.”

But as the sounds that seem like gunshots begin to be heard, Trump grabs his right ear.

This suggests Trump was grazed by at least one bullet.

Trump campaign statement:

“President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act. He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow.”

One hour after the assassination attempt, no statement has yet been issued by President Joe Biden or the White House.

However, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has just issued a statement saying he is “relieved that former President Trump is safe” and stating that “political violence has no place in our country.”

Update:

The local District Attorney is now indicating that the shooter was killed but so, too, is at least one campaign rally attendee. A second rally attendee has been seriously wounded.

Former President George W. Bush has just released a statement, condemning the “cowardly attack” on Trump and praising the “speedy response” of the Secret Service.

Former President Barack Obama just issued this statement: “There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. Michelle and I are wishing him a quick recovery.”
