Australian Christian actor Nathaniel Buzolic to light Israeli Independence Day beacon
Nathaniel Buzolic, an Australian actor who became well-known for his role in "The Vampire Diaries," has been chosen to participate in the lighting of a beacon for Israel's Independence Day next Monday evening, May 13.
The event was initiated by Israeli Minister Miri Regev, who also invited Arab-Israeli activist Yosef Haddad and Ella Keinan – a content creator and social media influencer who created #HamasisISIS campaign – to join this year's lighting ceremony.
Regev commended Buzolic for his active support of Israel and his substantial social media following, noting, "His commitment to Israel and the broad audience he commands make him an ideal representative for the Israeli Advocacy Front."
Buzolic first gained recognition in his acting career and was raised in Sydney by Croatian immigrant parents. He is a devout Christian and often shares his religious beliefs and his deep connection to Israel and its people.
A fervent supporter of Israel, Buzolic (40) engages his extensive Instagram audience by regularly posting content that highlights Israel's culture and viewpoints.
His recent trip to Israel, after a series of recent attacks, allowed Buzolic to use his social media influence to highlight the issues of Palestinian terrorism and detail the events of the Oct. 7 terror attack by Hamas.
The Australian celebrity underscored the importance of physically being in the land of Israel to fully convey the significance of living in a country at war with terrorists.
"While sharing the reality through a camera is one thing, I needed to physically be here," he told Israel's Channel 13 news.
Buzolic expressed his deep affection for Israel during the interview.
"My love for Israel and its people runs deep. I felt compelled to show the truth. There was no other choice. I love this country, I love the Jewish people."
