Arab news site claims a ‘quiet migration’ from Gaza has already begun

A report in an Arab news site claimed that international bodies and organizations are working to help residents of the Gaza Strip emigrate and settle in several other countries, including several in Europe and the West.

The Qatari-aligned website al-Quds al-Arabi reported that “sources from Gaza and a number of European countries revealed yesterday [Tuesday] that foreign organizations and bodies are actively encouraging the residents of the Gaza Strip to leave and settle in a number of European and Western countries.”

The news site, which is heavily biased toward the Hamas leadership in Gaza, said that dozens of families from Gaza have left the Strip for various destinations over the past few weeks.

However, the al-Quds al-Arabi also accused the Israeli government of waging a “misinformation campaign” by sending text messages to the phones of Gaza residents, calling on them to coordinate interviews with the IDF officers to "examine the possibility" of leaving the Strip.

The media outlet cited the Gaza Government Media Office and the Ministry of Interior in Gaza, both run by Hamas, who claimed it was “a misinformation campaign carried out by the occupation intelligence” which was designed “to displace Palestinians from their land.”

In another article, Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported that France had aided in the evacuation of “Ph.D.s, doctors, engineers, historians and cultural and archaeological specialists from Gaza.”

Quoting Rami Abdo, head of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, the news site reported that the French government would be facilitating a "new deportation operation" on Wednesday, which would be "carried out in complete secrecy and under the direct protection of the Israeli army.”

Euro-Med has a history of anti-Israel accusations, including many that have been disproven, while ignoring evidence of Hamas violations of international human rights law.

Abdo also claimed that the Palestinians fleeing Gaza “are gathered at dawn in buses in the central Gaza Strip, and transported to Ramon Airport under the protection of Israeli warplanes, with talk of the possibility of transporting them later through the King Hussein Bridge to Jordan.”

Other sources told Al-Quds Al-Arabi the initiative to get residents out of Gaza is being carried out under headings such as "humanitarian asylum," "family reunification,” and other phrases, to disguise the institutionalized nature of the evacuations, saying the actions are aimed at encouraging the quiet and gradual migration of Gaza residents out of the Strip.

Al-Quds al-Arabi has published several articles over the past few days discussing the topic of Gazans leaving the Gaza Strip. While the news site describes the efforts as aligning with the Gaza Proposal put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump – which called for voluntary evacuation – it simultaneously referred to the attempts by various international organizations to help Gaza residents flee the destruction in the enclave as “forced displacement.”

One source asked rhetorically: “How is it possible that even a carton of milk for babies does not enter the Gaza Strip – but families leave it privately and in groups for different destinations?”

The site claimed that the primary destinations for those leaving are several Arab countries, while also stating that some groups left for the Balkan countries or other European nations.

According to sources who spoke to Al-Quds Al-Arabi, coordination is carried out through Western embassies and consulates located in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. It also noted that the Israeli Cabinet recently approved the creation of an administrative body for coordinating and aiding the evacuation of Gaza residents wishing to leave.

Israeli journalist Amit Segal claimed on his Telegram channel that 130 Gaza residents left the Strip via Israel on Wednesday.
