After 150 days, where is Israel in its war with Hamas? Here are the latest numbers

DENVER, COLORADO — You’re not hearing this in most of the mainstream American and international media.

But it’s true. Israel is decisively winning its war against Hamas.

Yes, it’s brutal and bloody and painful and messy.

But Israel is very close to achieving its top objective of destroying Hamas terror forces and Hamas’ military infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

Whether all this intense military and diplomatic pressure will force Hamas to give up its hold on 134 hostages – another top Israeli objective – remains to be seen.

That’s why at the National Religious Broadcasters convention in Nashville, Tennessee last week, ALL ISRAEL NEWS launched our #SetTheCaptivesFree campaign, urging Christians around the world to pray daily according to Isaiah 61:1-2.

USING WAR DATA TO PRAY MORE PRECISELY

As I travel across the United States on a six-week speaking and media tour – briefing Christians about the severe trials Israelis and Palestinians are facing and how Evangelicals can help – I asked the Prime Minister’s Office and the Spokesmen Unit of the Israeli Defense Forces for the latest numbers in the war.

The scope of Israeli death and injuries is staggering, but I present them here so you can truly understand just how painful this war really is, especially for a country of less than 10 million citizens and residents, and so you can know better how to pray for victory, for the immediate release of all the hostages, and for urgent emotional and spiritual healing for all grieving and wounded Israelis.

To be sure, Palestinians are also suffering.

While ALL ISRAEL NEWS does not trust the specific casualty figures released daily by the Hamas-run Health Department in Gaza, given that they are likely inflated – and don’t distinguish between terrorists and civilians – there are certainly many dead and wounded.

Many of these are terrorists and those who directly assist the terrorists.

That said, we know that innocent Palestinian civilians who are unaffiliated directly with Hamas have also been killed and wounded, since they are being actively and purposefully used by Hamas as human shields.

This is tragic and breaks our hearts.

These deaths are also Hamas war crimes because Hamas and its terror allies are constantly attacking Israeli civilians and IDF forces from apartment complexes, schools, mosques, hospitals, and other civilian locations, all of which are violations of international law and intentionally wicked.

Please pray for the Palestinians of Gaza, as well as Israelis.

Pray for their complete liberation from the Hamas reign of terror.

Pray, too, for emotional and spiritual healing for all grieving and wounded Palestinians.

And please pray for the 1,000 or so Christians in Gaza who are isolated, scared, and suffering.

THE OCTOBER 7TH WAR: BY THE NUMBERS

Now, let’s turn to the numbers, fully five months since the Oct. 7th invasion.

  • Approximately 15,000 rockets have been fired at Israel (including failed launches and launches towards the sea).

ISRAELI SOLDIERS KILLED AND WOUNDED

  • 560 IDF soldiers have fallen, 314 of whom were killed in the Oct. 7 massacre. Since the beginning of Operation Swords of Iron, 246 IDF soldiers have been killed.

  • 3,007 soldiers have been injured since the beginning of Operation Swords of Iron. 1,429 have been injured in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the ground maneuver.

ISRAELI CIVILIANS WOUNDED

  • According to the Israeli Ministry of Health, as of Feb. 28, 2024, 14,492 injured people were evacuated to hospitals, of whom 13,833 were physically wounded.

HOSTAGES & CONFIRMED DEAD BODIES HELD IN GAZA BY HAMAS

  • 134 hostages are still in Gaza.

  • The bodies of 31 of the hostages killed during the Oct. 7 massacre are being held by Hamas in Gaza.

  • 8 hostages murdered by Hamas were retrieved by IDF soldiers.

IDF PROGRESS IN WAR AGAINST HAMAS IN GAZA

  • The IDF has killed more than 13,000 terrorists in Gaza since the beginning of the war.

  • Thousands more terrorists were injured or arrested.

  • The IDF has calculated and mapped 500 kilometers (over 300 miles) of terror tunnels in Gaza.

  • The IDF has destroyed 90% of Hamas' stockpile of missiles and its missile-production capabilities.

  • The IDF has destroyed 18 out of the 24 Hamas terror battalions – the remaining four battalions are located in the southern Gaza town of Rafah, which is why the IDF is preparing to invade Rafah soon.

  • “We are getting close to the point where we have destroyed the majority of Hamas’s military capabilities,” says the IDF.

IDF PROGRESS IN WAR AGAINST TERRORISTS  IN JUDEA & SAMARIA

  • In Judea and Samaria, the IDF has apprehended about 3,400 terrorists in counter-terrorism operations during the war.

  • This figure includes 1,500 Hamas terrorists.
