Israeli citizens are the most positive about America when compared to citizens of almost any other country, according to the results from a new Pew Research Center poll. The survey revealed that 74% believe the U.S. contributes to world peace and stability.

The poll surveyed some 30,000 citizens from 23 countries regarding their views of the United States, revealing that 87% of Israelis have a positive view of the U.S., whereas Hungarians have the lowest opinion of the country, with just 44% confirming that they have a positive view.

Israelis also have a higher opinion of U.S. President Joe Biden compared to the majority of other nations polled, with 68% responding they have a positive view of him. Despite their positive view of Biden, the majority (88%) believe the U.S. is meddling in Israeli affairs.

The results are the highest rating that Israelis have given the U.S. since the year 2000, representing a 4% increase compared to 2022.

Polish citizens were the largest champions of the United States, with 93% viewing the country favorably.

The citizens with the highest opinion of Biden and his abilities were Polish (83%), Swedish (76%), Kenyans (76%) and Nigerians (71%).

For comparison, in 2019, former U.S. President Donald Trump, who moved the American Embassy to Jerusalem during his administration, was viewed favorably by 71% of Israelis. Prior to the last U.S. presidential election in 2020, Israelis supported Trump over Biden by more than 3-to-1

The Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan American think tank based in Washington. It provides information on social issues, public opinion and demographic trends.

The Israeli poll was based on 1,001 Israelis who were interviewed in April.
